Parade of Heroes

September 16, 2023 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Golden Retriever Lifetime Study (GRLS) is a long-term research project that investigates the health of Golden Retrievers and their risk of developing common diseases. This is a crucial project because it helps us to understand the genetic and environmental factors that influence the development of diseases in dogs. The study aims to collect data from more than 3,000 Golden Retrievers over their lifetime, which will enable researchers to identify risk factors, improve prevention and treatment options, and ultimately lead to better health outcomes for this beloved breed.

The GRLS is also important because it has far-reaching implications beyond the breed. The data collected can be used to benefit all dogs and even humans. Golden Retrievers are prone to many of the same diseases as humans, including cancer, and research into the causes and treatments of these diseases in dogs could lead to improvements in human medicine as well. By participating in the GRLS, owners of Golden Retrievers can make an important contribution to the health and welfare of both dogs and humans. Overall, the GRLS is an essential initiative that will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the health of Golden Retrievers and possibly even humans.

One of the most exciting annual events is the Parade of Heroes at the GRCA National Specialty. This parade is a celebration of these dogs in the GRLS. The parade features many of these beautiful dogs who are accompanied by their owners. It’s a heartwarming sight to see these furry heroes as they march together, tails wagging, and proud smiles on their faces. The parade provides a great opportunity for the community to celebrate and support these dogs.

The time will be during the lunch break, but the timing given above is approximate.
