Golden Retriever breeders should always prioritize getting health clearances for their dogs. These clearances are important as they ensure that the dogs are free from genetic disorders that are common within the breed. Responsible breeders will test for common genetic disorders such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and heart diseases. By ensuring their dogs are healthy before breeding, they can prevent these diseases from being passed down to the puppies, which can result in healthier, happier dogs with longer lifespans.
